On my first night in Barcelona, I headed straight to Tapas 24. It was after all, on every one of my trusted recommender’s must-eat lists. The line was half way down the block, but it was well worth the wait. I met some friendly women travelers in the crowd who chatted with me during the wait and invited me to dine with them at their table, but I preferred sitting at the tapas bar for some front-row action. Right then, a spot for one opened up, and I grabbed it. I browsed the menu, ordered some cava and several dishes dishes. Neighboring diners looked surprised how much I ordered and ate by myself. The staff was pleased and gave me approving stares. We became fast friends. Tapas 24 has now become one of my first recommendations when people ask where to eat in Barcelona. I ended up visiting there again on my last night in town. I knew it was a place I’d long to taste once I boarded the plane to my next destination.

Pa amb Tomaquet – Bread with tomato
Bravas – fried potatoes with spicy sauce and aioli ( garlic mayonnaise)
Mc Foie Burger – small beef hamburger with foie gras served with a foie ganache
If you’re dining with more than three, a table is preferable, but for smaller parties, a counter seat is where the action is.
