From the crew that brought you San Francisco’s neighborhood Italian hot-spots Beretta, Starbelly and Delarosa comes a burger joint in the colorful Castro, Super Duper. Open for business since April of this year, Super Duper already has a loyal following that frequents the Market street locale for an affordable (prices include tax), casual lunch, dinner, mid-day snack or dessert.
Yes, Super Duper has all the expected burger shop items – cheeseburgers, fries, fountain drinks and shakes, but Super Duper also serves additional savory and sweet choices on the menu. Non-beef sandwich options include a juicy Chicken breast marinated overnight in chile ancho served with chipotle aioli and a juicy Portobello Veggie sandwich topped with aged jack cheese. Beverages include a refreshingly tart fresh squeezed lemonade, home brewed iced tea and beer and wine for the 21 and over crowd.
Keeping with San Francisco’s tradition of organic and sustainable, Super Duper uses all natural Niman Ranch beef which is ground fresh daily in house. The Super Duper team marinates and prepares most everything from scratch including the tangy self-serve pickles and kickin' zesty jalapenos. The fries are drizzled with parmesan and roasted garlic beurre blanc. Soft serve ice cream and decadent sundaes for the kids and the kid in all of us comes from Straus Creamery.
In addition to their regular menu, Super Duper offers daily burger specials which are highly recommended during your visit. The low-key, friendly staff headed by local Bay Area restaurant veteran Edmondo Sarti, are all about customer service, so even if they don’t have your particular favorite burger featured that day, Super Duper will gladly personally make it for you upon request.
The burgers, along with the fries aren't greasy and you won’t feel the bloated burger baby in your stomach after eating them. My savory portion was just enough room for an organic ice cream dessert…or two. Vanilla or chocolate, combo swirl or choco-dipped ice cream cones await the end of your meal at Super Duper.
For those with a separate stomach for dessert, unexpected sundae choices – Vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate chip cookies and crispy bacon, Fresh Strawberries marinated in lemon and sugar, or Pecan pie and chocolate sauce await your many spoonfuls.
Next time your budget and appetite are calling for an affordable all-natural burger followed by some organic soft serve in San Francisco, bring yourself and some friends on over to Super Duper.

Hi Alan – yes, you can add bacon to any sandwich at Super Duper for $1.50. That particular sandwich pictured above is the Chicken Breast ($6.50). The bacon was a welcome added bonus.
Mika, did you really eat both those ice cream cones and that sundae??? LOL!
