Schiacciatina Vegetariana Panini at Cafe Verona
Once you slip in to the garden escape of Cafe Verona, you'd never think you were parallel to a busy street in Los Angeles, or next door to an Easy Lube auto shop. The small, yet lush exterior patio decor is a bit of an Italian garden jungle feel with overflowing plants and well placed man made waterfall fountains. Cafe Verona is the perfect casual, yet serene breakfast or lunch spot for a quick and delicious meal with a bargain bite price tag and friendly service.

The paninis (Italian sandwiches) always come out just perfect with deliciously layered juicy ingredients in the center of warm crisp bread. I particularly love the Schiacciatina Vegetariana which comes with succulent eggplant, zucchini, roasted red peppers, and pesto with a tad bit of mayo. I always add a side of mozzarella cheese to mine. It also arrives with a side of mixed greens with tangy balsamic dressing or $2 extra for a caesar salad. Another favorite is the Salmon Paillard which combines a sauteed salmon paillard on top of bold beets and fresh greens. Cafe Verona also serves a great selection of Fritattas (Italian omelets), salads, and a variety of appetizers. Friends of mine also love the Quiche Piemontese which is a spinach and mushroom quiche served with a side of sweet potato and cucumber dill yogurt.
Bonuses include free parking in the back lot, breakfast and brunch served all day, free refills on lemonade & iced tea, a basket of soft baked bread, and vegetarian friendly.

Food Fashionista, we seem to frequent many of the same restaurants. You’ve let the cat out of the bag on this little gem. Cafe Verona is a find in LA – Quiet, unassuming, reasonably priced and good food.
